About Us

Our Services

We provide courteous, sympathetic and efficient services. We service all burial, vault and cash policies.

Funerals are the beginning of the family’s healing. Funerals provide a social support from family and friends as well as a means of expressing love for relatives. The ceremony offers hope and continuity for the living. The funeral provides a safe place to affirm our relationships with the deceased and acknowledge feelings of loss.

The “wake” or visitation is a time for family and friends to support one another. Throughout history wakes lasted for days. In some countries there is a one month celebration before burial. A traditional American visitation is the day before the burial. The word “wake” means to “wake” from sleep. In actuality, the wake is an awakening to the reality of death. Honors are given in the transition from life to death.

Our Facilities

The facility and parking lot encompasses an entire block centered by Fonville Street, Church Street and Montgomery Road. Our state-of-the art facility has three chapels for families comfort and convenience. The building is spacious and versatile enough that no family is “second” because one chapel is occupied. Arrangement offices provide a comfortable, spacious and private area for families to make funeral arrangements and pre-needs.

Peoples Funeral Home’s parking lot is paved and striped for your safety. There are three different public entrances into our building. This allows your family and friends easy access to enter our facility. All entrances are wheelchair accessible. There are five on-site restrooms which are also handicap accessible. Our indoor garage houses our vehicles (limousines and hearses).

The City of Tuskegee is rich in history and beauty. The historic campus of Tuskegee University holds a statue of Booker T. Washington, the airplane of Gen. Daniel "Chappie" James, and the George Washington Carver Museum---to name a few. There is also historic Moton Field, home of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, and there are many other sites that are a visitor's delight.
